Edward + Sayoko | Four Seasons Maui

Last month I had the wonderful opportunity to shoot my first destination wedding in Maui with the amazing Marlin Lum of Marlin Lum Photography. What an extraordinary day it was celebrating with this very special couple and their families at the stunning Four Seasons Resort. Sayoko's Japanese heritage added such a dramatic flare to the celebration with the gorgeous traditional kimonos and Buddhist ceremony. Hearing the words of this ceremony reminded me why I love Buddhism so much, it just resonated with such serenity and depth. It was truly an honor to be present for and document the joyful coming together of these wonderful people. Many thank you's to Marlin for having me as part of your team! Let's do it again!

Cara, these pictures are absolutely jewels! Truly, we are humbly blessed to have Marlin and you on our wedding day documenting and capturing every moment, movement, and gesture. Our first glimpses of the wedding pictures here are only second to your artistic eye and organic touch in bringing us out from within.

I really want to thank you and Marlin again for being the true centerpiece of our wedding! While Marlin's magical touch captured the whole moment, you were just so amazing for bringing out the humanity of people. The "Ramens" (i.e. those fantastic three) keeps talking to this day about how much they enjoyed being coaxed, cajoled, and drawn out to make the moments. :)
